The National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH) was founded in 1895 and is the national teaching hospital in Taiwan. It is one of the largest in the country with 20 centers of excellence and over 1,800 beds. As a multispeciality hospital it focuses on all areas of medical care. The hospital treats over 2 million outpatients each year, and performs over 50,000 surgeries. The hospitalÃ¢Â€Â™s Center for Parkinson and Movement Disorders received the Symbol of National Quality award and their cardiothoracic surgery team received the 2010 Outstanding Paper Award from the International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus (ISDE) for their research article.
