Liposuction Treatment Cost In India

What is Liposuction?

As we know that this blog is about liposuction treatment cost in India but to start we should know some basic information about liposuction surgery

Liposuction is a surgical procedure that uses a suction technique to remove fat from specific areas of the body, such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms or neck. Liposuction also shapes (contours) in these areas. Other names for liposuction include lipoplasty and body contouring.

Liposuction isn’t typically considered an overall weight-loss method or a weight-loss alternative. If you’re overweight, you’re likely to lose more weight through diet and exercise or through bariatric procedures — such as gastric bypass surgery — than you would with liposuction. As

Why is Liposuction Done?

Before this system came along, a surgeon who operated on his patient’s belly had to make a cut that was 6-to-12 inches long. That gave them enough room to see what they were doing and reach whatever they had to work on.

In laparoscopic surgery, the surgeon makes several small cuts. Usually, each one is no more than a half-inch long. (That’s why it’s sometimes called keyhole surgery.) They insert a tube through each opening, and the camera and surgical instruments go through those. Then the surgeon does the operation.

Why is laparoscopy performed?

Liposuction is used to remove fat from areas of the body that haven’t responded to diet and exercise, such as the:

  1. Abdomen
  2. Upper arms
  3. Buttocks
  4. Calves and ankles
  5. Chest and back
  6. Hips and thighs
  7. Chin and neck

Liposuction Procedure

Liposuction is generally a painless surgery involving a maximum of one night’s stay in a hospital. Before the procedure, you will be anaesthetised. The degree of anaesthesia will depend on the extent of fat removal. You may have local anaesthesia or general anaesthesia. After this, a hollow tube, cannula, is inserted into the specific area through an incision. The incisions are generally less than one-quarter of an inch. The cannula is then attached to a vacuum unit. After the devices are attached the vacuum is turned on, and fat is sucked out under the guidance of a trained doctor. However, before sucking out the fat it needs to be melted. This can be done in three ways :

  • Injection: A saline solution mixed with a painkiller and epinephrine is injected into the fatty areas to melt the fat cells.
  • Ultrasound: In this procedure, ultrasound is used to melt the fatty deposits.
  • Laser-assisted: Here a powerful laser is used to melt the membranes of fat cells.
  • Once the fat is melted the vacuum is turned on and molten fat is sucked out of the specific area.If the procedure has passed uneventfully then recovery will be quick. Though there may be bruising, swelling and soreness for about a week you can return to work within a few days. You can resume normal ways of life within two weeks.
