All-on-6 treatments abroad

All-on-6 dental implants are a long-lasting, durable and permanent alternative to traditional dentures. They can replace entire rows or sets of teeth and eliminate the need for individual teeth to be replaced by implants. Unlike dentures, all-on-6 implants are moulded precisely to the shape of the patient's mouth and do not require any kind of adhesive to hold them in place. This means that there is none of the inflammation, irritation or discomfort which is usually associated with dentures. All-on-6 dental implants are designed to work in exactly the same way as your natural teeth.

For patients who have low bone density or have problems with the tissue in the jawbone, all-on-6 implants are good option to restore stability and structure. Only in very rare cases is a bone graft required before the all-on-6 implant is fitted. The all-on-6 technology makes it easy for the denture to be fitted even when the existing bone structure is not strong enough to support a traditional denture. Another advantage of an all-on-6 is the lack of dietary restrictions. With traditional dentures there are a number of foods which need to be avoided, particularly those which require a lot of chewing. With an all-on-6, however, you should be able to eat all of the foods you previously enjoyed.

The all-on-6 procedure begins with a medical examination, which allows the orthodontist to assess the overall condition of the mouth, teeth and gums. Six screws are then implanted into the jaw, which need to be left to integrate with the surrounding bone and tissue - this can take up to six months. In the meantime a temporary set of dentures will be provided. During the follow-up visit the implant bridge can then be fixed to the screws. Complications and side-effects following the fitting of all-on-6 implant are rare. Some patients experience mild discomfort or swelling as the denture settles in to the jaw, but this usually wears off after a few days. Most all-on-6 dental implants will remain in good condition for around 15-20 years.
